Our story

Walnut is the brainchild of Devon based art director (Dermot) and nutritionist, health writer and holistic therapist (Emma), who for a long time have dreamt of combining their talents to create something special, something close to their hearts.

Walnut is an independent magazine split into three sections – health, food and people, packed with informative and inspirational articles, mouth-watering recipes, plus fascinating stories about the people who champion the best in food production. All wrapped up in a clean and contemporary design with beautiful photography and illustration. It’s something to keep, collect and cherish. It looks good and even smells good, a bit like delicious food really.

It is essential reading for individuals who are interested in health and wellbeing, who care about the food they eat, where it comes from and how it affects their body.

About us

Dermot has worked for over 20 years in publishing as a graphic designer and art director, gaining valuable experience on consumer and client magazines for some of the biggest publishing companies in the UK. dermotrushe.co.uk

Emma is a trained nutritionist and Energy Medicine practitioner with 10 years clinical experience. Emma no longer sees clients, but regularly writes articles and develops recipes for Walnut and other publications and websites. Emma is also part of the team supporting the work of energy expert, Prune Harris.

We work with a talented team of collaborators and contributors to create each issue of Walnut, a list of these wonderful people can be found near the front of any issue.
